Becoming a Mother.
Join us for an opportunity to share and explore what motherhood means to you, while developing a strong supportive community. We will have open discussions in a safe and non-judgmental space. This series is open for expecting mothers and women in the first year of post birth (for first-time, second-time moms or more!). You are welcome to bring your baby if you like.
In addition to discussions and sharing experiences, we will practice simple stretches and exercises that helps to build a healthy pelvic floor and develop a rejuvenated body and mind.
The meetings are facilitated by a prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher who is also a licensed psychotherapist specialized in women’s health.

For over a decade, Shahar has worked with new moms, their families and birth community in New York City. She has made a valuable contribution in the birthing community on the topics of trauma, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ, relationships, and family issues. Shahar has a Masters in Clinical Social Work from NYU and completed post-grad training in Psychoanalysis. In addition to her yoga teachings, Shahar is a co-founder of TrueThriver, a well-established private psychotherapy practice for individuals and couples.
